Devil’s Marbles

First stop of day were the Devil’s Marbles about 100 km south of Tennant Creek. This impressive rock formation was carved over billions of years and looks like somebody had put some Easter Eggs into the desert. On the way to Alice Springs which was another 400 or so kilometers away we stopped at a ghost town which has been abandoned some decades ago. Lunch was rather short as we needed to flee from a heavy fly attack (oh how we hate these buggers…).

Once arrived in Alice Springs (we killed most of the driving time with singing and listening to music) we setup shop at MacDonnell Range Holiday Park. An excellent camp ground. By now we were experienced campers and had lively discussion about optimal shade spots and angles to put our tent (which by now even had a reading light).
